We want our screenings to be accessible to a variety of different people. That said, being disabled-led we recognise that access clashes are an inevitability.
Our pledge: While we cannot guarantee that every screening will be ‘fully accessible’ for absolutely everybody (and we steer clear of this language in recognition that we can’t promise full accessibility until we’ve spoken to and assessed the access needs of everyone in the space), we will do our best to have a range of facilities, tools, and avenues for communication so that you can attend a screening in a way most accessible to you.
Our notes on access

E.g. venue facilities, accessibility
> We will only partner with venues that have step-free access.
> We will only partner with venues that have accessible toilets. Ideally, they would also have additional gender neutral toilets.
> We will not work with venues that have a track record of discrimination, abuse, or hostility to marginalised communities.

E.g. food, ventilation, temperature
> We will provide snacks for each screening – please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements upon ticket sign-up.
> We cannot guarantee that each venue we use will be nice and toasty with state-of-the-art heating. Where we fear room temp will be a concern, we’ll update our audience. You are always welcome to bring anything that would make you comfortable, i.e. blankets, cushions.
> We will never exceed a safe capacity for a space. We will ensure spaces are well-ventilated. Anyone in the space is welcome and encouraged to wear a mask.

E.g. using the space, cost
> Audiences can get up, walk around, and take breaks at their own pace. If anybody needs to stim, you can do this as much as you like in a way that is comfortable to you. We will try to provide stim toys to facilitate this, too.
> Our tickets will always be pay as you feel – nobody will ever be turned away for a lack of funds.
THIS LIST IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE: Upon ticket sign-up there’s an option to let us know confidentially about any access needs you may have. If in doubt, please contact us!

The below is a guide for what we expect from others in Breeze Frame Film Club’s screenings. It is a mutual agreement you opt into in order to assure trust and a fun communal vibe for all! The most important thing we want you to know is that if something or someone makes you feel uncomfortable at one of our events, no matter how minor it seems, you can report it to us.
Zero tolerance for discrimination
We are absolutely opposed to any and all forms of discriminatory and intimidating behaviour based on aspects such as age, gender identity, sexuality, race or ethnicity, disability, weight, appearance, or social status. If you are found to be behaving in this way at a BFFC event, you will be asked to leave.
Respect agency and do not make assumptions
As we want this to be a discursive and interactive space, it’s important to be mindful that everyone is coming to our events with different experiences, knowledge, and views. Please respect each other’s – and your own – autonomy and agency. Do not make assumptions, e.g. about pronouns or gender identity. Lead with care and consideration for each other and ask if you are uncertain about something if there has been an opportunity presented to you to do so.
Zero tolerance for sexual or physical harassment
The respect of agency and autonomy extends to bodily autonomy. There is NO space for any unwanted physical contact or sexual advances. Please report this either to an organiser or a member of venue staff if you are subject to this or witness this. If you are found to do this at a BFFC event, you will be asked to leave.
Only attend if you are feeling well
Please exercise caution and community care and stay home if you feel sick. If you have been in contact with somebody who has tested positive for Covid-19, please test and make sure you are negative before coming to a screening. Please stay home if your test is positive. If you have attended a screening and then tested positive, please notify the organisers via breezeframefilmclub@gmail.com at your earliest convenience.
Content warnings
Where difficult topics arise within or as a result of a film, we will ensure that audiences are told of this and can therefore opt in with informed consent. Similarly, if you are discussing sensitive or triggering topics please give a heads-up before discussing details. Of course, you don’t know what might trigger somebody – so always enter into these conversations with care and consideration, and ask if people are happy to discuss a particular topic.
Space to speak
We know that it can be difficult for marginalised groups, i.e. racialised communities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, disabled people, to participate in discussions. Please always listen to each other, do not talk over each other, or assume authority when speaking about experiences that are not your own. Try to give less confident and quieter people a chance to speak. Equally, there is no expectation or pressure to participate if you are feeling overwhelmed. If somebody wishes not to speak, this is great too – respect each other’s voices and how/ when we want to use them.
Photography permissions
BFFC might take pictures of events in order to document screenings and promote them to our communities. This will always be explained at the beginning of an event, and we will always ask permission to photograph you. In this light, please do not take photos of anybody in the room that has not consented to having their picture taken. There are a multitude of reasons as to why somebody may not want to be photographed – so always check before you take one.
